Work and Espoused National Cultural Values of Generation Z in Austria

Purpose: Employers face the challenge of preparing for a new, upcoming generational cohort that is different in its expectations workplace, which goes hand-in-hand with values. Therefore, Generation Z Austria must receive detailed attention because it will make up significant proportion workforce future. Questions emerge about how to recruit this or retain them. This research fills gap by analyzing their espoused national cultural values and corresponding work while considering implications SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
 Design/Method/Approach: quantitative surveyed 137 Austrians from Z.
 Findings: The results show low Power Distance score, concluding Austrian does not prefer unequally distributed power; preference Collectivism, higher Uncertainty Avoidance, lower Masculinity. In terms values, demonstrated strongest intrinsic social rewards emphasized importance offering benefits such as remote opportunities flexibility scheduling work.
 Theoretical Implications: study shows impact context Gen Z. Thus, both framework can be considered suitable investigating differences.
 Practical Human Resources practices should adapted successfully Originality/Value: among early attempts only understand COVID Austria.
 Research Limitations/Future Research: smaller sample size over representation females extent findings generalized all Austria. Future expand within internationally.
